Fans I was just recently written up on the Texas Chain Saw site 'The Saw Is Family' where they gave a great review of this CD. Check it out here...

(Scroll down a bit to find it - There's a lot of cool Chainsaw news there)

Heck, here's the review right here! (But do visit the Saw Is Family site - It rocks!)

Our good old buddy Laker Jim has sent us his review of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre CD that is being sold on the internet, available at (your there).

"Both I and Nailhead were contacted early last month about a Special Edition Chainsaw Soundtrack that a fan was making and selling. I sent him the money so I could bring you an honest review of the CD before you go out and buy it.

First, for a bootleg CD the appearance is really great. Roger covers the entire cover, back, booklet, and CD with tons of amazing Chainsaw pictures. The cover is really attractive as well is the back. He does a perfect job of arranging photos and text that maximize its visual effect. While in the case, it looks professionally done. The inside 2 page booklet is awesome. He has pictures in there that A lot of people have never seen before. It is brilliantly enticing as well. The actual presentation of the CD is frightening too. He was able to paste an image of the “fam” at dinner right on the CD. You can tell a lot of work and care went into the creation of this CD’s appearance.

Ok, Now onto the actual content of the CD. It only gets better if that’s possible. The actual sound on this baby is just incredible. It is more crystal-clear than the actual film audio. The first part of the CD (Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 1)…It starts off with the chilling John Larroquette part 1 intro. The “Gravedigging” news report that is pretty low and hard to understand in the movie is amazingly clear on this CD. Then in what might be the best track of the whole CD (Track 4), Roger put together a series of TCM dialogue from the film that he brilliantly deemed “The ‘Saw’-yer Symphony!” All of Leatherface's squeals can be felt running up your spine. All the great Lines from Ed Neal, and Jim Siedow live on in this track as if you were right there. The second part of the CD covers TCM part 2. It is mind boggling how he put this baby together so professionally. In this second half he includes the perfect alternation of songs and classic lines. The track that takes the cake here is #19… ”the ‘Saw’-yer Symphony Pt. 2!!” This manages to out do the first Symphony. You feel like Choptop is screaming his head off right in your face.

I love this CD. The Die-hard Chainsaw fan needs this. It is totally worth the money. You cant find a compilation like this anywhere. I’m hoping he makes a Volume 2 to this soundtrack that handles Chainsaw 3 and 4. There were some great songs and lines in those films. If I were you I’d email Roger immediately to get your hand on a copy of this. It is so well put together and as much as CD you can buy in a store. However, keep in mind how much has to go into making this masterpiece. Great job. Thanks so much for helping keep Chainsaw alive.

Great review, sounds like a must have for every TCM fan! Thanks!

I got your CD Yesterday In the mail IT IS GREAT! The Sound is incredible from the John larroquet narration all the way to the insanity of Drayton Sawyer, plus you even added a few clips of Strech talking at the radio station before each song. I had this soundtrack on record and cassette before I got this CD and of course they where a little low and hard to figure out but this CD is like watching the whole movie. All I can say is thank-you and you should be very very proud of yourself. Thank-you - Clayton

Damn man this disc is fantastic.  As any and all fans of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE know and agree, this masterpiece of horror should have had it's score released put out 25 years ago.  Once again I want to thank you on behalf of soundtrack buffs the world over for giving it such a beautifully packaged, wonderfully recorded and comprehensive release. You're the best at what you do, plain and simple.  This disc is truthfully one of the most treasured selections in my entire collection and like all of your releases I've heard so far - worth every penny and an absolutely essential acquisition for true fans.  The raw, brutal, coarse score composed by Wayne Bell and Tobe Hooper is just sledge hammeringly cool.  And in regards to the kick ass inclusion of the rip roaring tracks of TCM 2, I must quote the expert himself.  In the immortal words of Leatherface. "Ooooh eeee squeeeeal! Snort!  Snort!"  Beast wishes - Leif

Hi Roger, I got the CD 2 days ago and it is one of the best horror soundtracks I have! I have always wanted a soundtrack to the texas chainsaw massacre and you made it possible. And i would like to say thank you. When I can I will be ordering more from you. Matt

Hi Roger!  Just got my copy of the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Special Edition Soundtrack" CD today in the mail.  What can I say besides ... WOW!  This CD is great!  I was overjoyed to see the professional look to the cover art and the CD itself.  This is EXCELLENT quality, the sound of the tracks themselves were crystal clear, and did a great job of capturing all elements of the first two films.  After listening to it a few times, it got me in the mood to watch my VHS copy of "Chainsaw 2" and the sound quality of the CD was greater than on the tape!  Like I said, this is a great Cd, and a must for any horror fan, and especially fans of the Chainsaw films.  Great job!

Hi roger WOW! incredible I can't even begin to describe how great they look in person, and how they sound is earth shattering. Thank you so much I'll have trouble getting to sleep tonight, their so exciting to listen to. You are definitely a credit in a big way to the horror genre. Will definitely be ordering others from you. Thanks again and I'll be definitely enjoying these! Jason

Unreal.  That's all I can say about these discs (The Shining & The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).   From the liner art, to the case and CD covers, they reek of professionalism.   The quotes from the movies were well-chosen and far better than I would have come up with given the opportunity.  Their placement in-between the music cues were inspired - you really do get an "audiobook" feel from the discs.  They tell the story of the movie in a "zen" way, not so much directly as indirectly.  The audio quality was superb, and I loved the fact that the volume levels of the movie quotes were properly matched to the audio (too many fan attempts at soundtrack/dialogue combos mess this up).   I had initially balked at the price, but after receiving these discs I'm now going to order a few more.  They're worth every penny.  -Ron

Hey.. I recieved the TCM soundtrack that I bid on today, & I am very impressed with it. The sound on it is incredible.
Jeff
